The current theme that I am thinking about is "The King and the Kingdom".  Jesus moves from Jericho and enters into Jerusalem in this chapter. It is very symbolic of the expected king entering his kingdom.  It goes from a triumphal entry to Jesus weeping over Jerusalem and cleansing the temple.  It is not how you would desire a king's entry to proceed.
